John Mathena

Co-Founder/President

John has been afforded the opportunity to lead, manage and consult with multimillion-dollar companies over the past 25 years. Prior to JM2, John led Mathena, Inc as President and CEO for 10 years. He was responsible for directing the overall strategy and executing against a succinctly designed operational framework. John’s keen ability to see a vision and develop a plan for implementation allowed the company to experience exponential growth over his tenure. During the past decade, he has developed a deep experience in estate planning, wealth management strategies and family office practices with several 100s of millions under management.

John provided leadership to The Williams Companies as the Director of Supply Chain Management – managing over $300 million in annual spend. Prior to Williams, he worked for Accenture developing an expertise in strategy and process consulting within several energy, chemical and high-tech businesses across the Fortune 100. As a Senior Manager, John had the opportunity to consult in North America and across Europe with an emphasis on business process reengineering – focusing on supply chain management and customer order to cash processes.

John holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. He enjoys being involved with the community through his local church – as a bible study teacher, and he actively participates on several boards – Integris, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Witness to Win foundation.

 

Elizabeth Mathena

Co-Founder/Vice President

Elizabeth is a degreed accountant and CPA with over 20 years of accounting expertise. Prior to JM2 Capital, she led the accounting transformation at Mathena, Inc. as the CFO and Controller for approximately 10 years. Elizabeth was instrumental in moving the company from manually managed accounting functions to system enabled accounting processes – preparing the company for exponential growth.

She developed her business management and accounting skillset working for Fortune 500 companies in the Energy and High-Tech space. Over her tenure, Elizabeth developed a broad appreciation for various accounting principles and enabling systems ranging from budgeting, planning, general ledger, tax, account receivable/payable and payroll.

Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. She is active in her local church through women’s bible study and teaching a young married adult connect group class.

 

 

Greg Cantrell

Vice President of Consulting

Vice President of JM2 Capital Business Consulting, Greg provides leadership in strategy and planning, business development, operations and sales. Before joining JM2 Capital, Greg served as Vice President of Operations and Sales for Mathena, Inc. Under Greg’s direction, Mathena maintained strong cost discipline through a period of hyper growth. His unique ability to evaluate market conditions and accurately forecast growth opportunities allowed him to develop significant market expansion opportunities.

Greg appreciates all facet of business; he has filled the position of Chief Financial Officer for an oil & gas company, as well as being responsible for raising the standard of efficient and safe operations using Kaizen and LEAN programs. Prior to Mathena, Greg spent a decade with Williams Energy in various roles including Strategic Human Resource, Long Range Planning, Information Technology, and Supply Chain Management. Due to his diverse career exposure, he has a wealth of knowledge to draw from and share with other company leaders.

Greg holds both an MBA from the University of Tulsa and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Oklahoma State University.

 

Cameron Turner

Chief Investment Officer

Cameron has over 24 years of investment and wealth management experience. He leads investment strategy and vision for JM2 Capital’s family office and wealth practice, emphasizing goal-based client solutions, portfolio construction using multi-factor risk analysis, and tax-aware optimization.

Prior to joining JM2 Capital, Cameron was a Senior Vice President at the Trust Company of Oklahoma where he managed approximately $300 million in client investments for clients ranging from $1,000,000 to $40,000,000 in investable assets. Cameron’s earlier experience as an analyst and tax accountant granted him the knowledge and ability to look at client’s portfolios holistically and taking advantage of opportunities for both growth and safe guards.

Cameron is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from University of Central Oklahoma.
